Nick's Random Gibberish (17) : The Art of Commenting
Nick's Random Gibberish is a weekly post here at Nick's Book Blog where I, Nick, will talk about random topics from personal posts to discussion posts. Hi guys! Today I'm here to talk about commenting. This post is partly inspired by Heidi at Rainy Day Ramblings' fabulous discussion post on commenting. I thought I would add my part to the discussion as well and share my thoughts. I personally strongly believe that commenting is one of the most important parts of building your blog's audience. And by that I mean, commenting on other people's blogs and inviting them to visit you, indirectly. Commenting is an extremely time-consuming process, for me. It usually takes me about an hour and a half to go through my feed and write something thoughtful. I actually wake up an hour earlier than I need to so I can get some commenting done before I get to class. So, it can be a huge let down when you take your time to write something encouraging on someone's blog ...
Indeed the cover looks kind of boring :P :) But I am glad you liked the story! I remember when I wanted to read Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake and thank god I didn't check the cover before, because if I would, I wouldn't have probably read the book :P But the story was amazing!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a b-o-r-i-n-g cover. Good post!

Thank you for visiting my blog! I'm a new follower. :)
ReplyDeleteI have to totally agree with you about this cover. It's not even that it's bad - just blah. I'd probably walk right past it and not even look twice.
That is definitely a very boring cover. It's such a shame when good books get judged by their covers, especially since the author often doesn't get much say in picking one.

New follower! Good choice! I would have to agree - hadn't heard of the title before, but the cover is kind of blah. Here is my FF if you'd like to follow back: http://theonceandfuturelibrarian.blogspot.com/2012/03/follow-friday-9.html
ReplyDeleteHopping through. I think that cover is really pretty, although it's not exciting. Glad it was good.

I'm definately a fan of this cover, the synopsis sounds great and it annoys me when such great books have really crappy covers, new follower, here's mine

Aww, clearly I'm in the minority here! I actually quite like this cover -- it's pretty and I really like the fonts used. It does seem like maybe more of an adult book than YA but whatever (actually for all I know, it IS adult). Glad you liked the book itself! :)
