Revamped !

Hi Guys ! So, you must be all wondering whatever the heck is wrong with me for changing my layout at least 3 times this month. Below I've explained why. :) Well, a few months after I put my purple punk girl layout, I realized that it wasn't exactly my style. I don't even like purple. I decided then that I wanted a layout that really defined who I am. After several annoying experimentation, I finally managed to design one that I really love. So, here it is ! :) I hope you guys like it too but if ever you have any recommendations, please don't hesitate to leave a comment. Don't worry about hurting my feelings! I love recommendations. Anyways, there are a few people that I need to credit so here we go. Summary (from Goodreads) Twittercide [twit-er-sahyd]: the killing of one human being by another while the victim is in the act of tweeting. Call me crazy, but I figured writing for the Herbert Hoover High Homepage would be a pretty sweet gig. Pad the resume for college applications, get a first look at the gossip column, spend some time ogling the paper’s brooding bad-boy editor, Chase Erikson. But on my first big story, things went... a little south. What should have been a normal interview with Sydney Sanders turned into me discovering the Homecoming Queen-hopeful dead in her pool. Electrocuted while Tweeting. Now, in addition to developing a reputation as HHH’s resident body finder, I’m stuck trying to prove that Sydney’s death wasn’t suicide. I’m starting to long for the days when my biggest worry was whether the cafeteria was serving pizza sticks or Tuesday Tacos... Personal Thoughts Deadly Cool was one of my favorite books of 2011. With her sarcastic and witty attitu

Review : Grave Mercy by R.L LaFevers

Summary (from Goodreads) Why be the sheep, when you can be the wolf? Seventeen-year-old Ismae escapes from the brutality of an arranged marriage into the sanctuary of the convent of St. Mortain, where the sisters still serve the gods of old. Here she learns that the god of Death Himself has blessed her with dangerous gifts—and a violent destiny. If she chooses to stay at the convent, she will be trained as an assassin and serve as a handmaiden to Death. To claim her new life, she must destroy the lives of others. Ismae's most important assignment takes her straight into the high court of Brittany—where she finds herself woefully under prepared—not only for the deadly games of intrigue and treason, but for the impossible choices she must make. For how can she deliver Death’s vengeance upon a target who, against her will, has stolen her heart?   Personal Thoughts I've wanted to read Grave Mercy ever since I saw it's cover some time back. The girl on the cover looke

Feature & Follow #7

Image
Feature and Follow is a weekly event hosted by AlisonCanRead and Parajunkee . It is a way to meet new bloggers and increase your number of followers.  Q: Have you had a character that disappointed you? One that you fell in love with and then “broke up” with later on in either the series or a stand-alone book? Tell us about him or her. This has never happened to me before. Ok, maybe Sophie from Hex Hall. I loved her wittiness and her sarcastic attitude in the first two books, but in the last book, her sarcasm started to annoy me a little. That's probably because I was annoyed with Spellbound in general, but that doesn't mean I hated her at the end of the series, because she was still very kick-ass. What about you guys ? Did this ever occur to you ? Don't forget to leave a link below ! Happy Reading ! :D

Blog Tour Stop : Dissolve by Andrea Heltsley

Summary (from Goodreads) Everything seemed to be going right for Cora. She had a wonderful fiance, a great best friend and a fulfilling life. One day, a tragic event causes that life to crumble around her. She turns to her best friend in her time of need. They embark on a search for answers, delving deeper into a web of magic and destruction. The closer they get to the truth, the more questions they have. To Cora, magic was the stuff of fairy tales. Immersed into a very different kind of world, the real storm was just beginning to take hold.  “It felt like I was nowhere yet everywhere all at once. I was invisible and completely panicked. The millions of pieces I had dissolved to drift on the breeze and away from my nightmares. It was kind of like floating weightless in a pool, perfectly relaxing. The warm breeze from the window embraced and soothed me. I let the air current carry me as far as it could through the summer city.”  “Defeated, I closed my eyes and

Waiting On Wednesday : Lost Girls by Ann Kelley

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at   Breaking the Spine  and spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. Lost Girls by Ann Kelley Publication Date : July 10th 2012 Summary (from Goodreads) No parents. No rules. No way home. But when a strong current deposits the girls on what their boatman calls the "forbidden island," things take a turn for the worse: A powerful storm comes to destroy their campsite, the smallest of the junior cadets is found dead, and their boatman never returns.  What once seemed like a vacation in paradise has become a battle against the elements. Review : Shooting Stars by Allison Rushby

Summary (from Goodreads) Meet Josephine Foster, or Zo Jo as she’s called in the biz.  The best pint-sized photographer of them all, Jo doesn’t mind doing what it takes to get that perfect shot, until she’s sent on an undercover assignment to shoot Ned Hartnett—teen superstar and the only celebrity who’s ever been kind to her—at an exclusive rehabilitation retreat in Boston.  The money will be enough to pay for Jo’s dream: real photography classes, and maybe even quitting her paparazzi gig for good.  Everyone wants to know what Ned’s in for.  But Jo certainly doesn’t know what she’s in for: falling in love with Ned was never supposed to be part of her assignment. Personal Thoughts YA contemporary books are a favorite of mine. They are perfect if you're aiming for something cute and light. That's exactly what I was expecting when I went into Shooting Stars and cute it was! The main character, Zo Jo, is a teenager by day and a paparazzo by night. Because of her tiny size,

Summary (from Goodreads) 16-year-old Brin Skar hates everything to do with the supernatural, so the obsessive film geek isn't happy when she discovers that her junior year Film class at Grisly High is devoted to the horror genre. She's even more disconcerted when she learns that six groups in the class will be writing and directing their very own horror movies. Brin and five classmates travel to Bodie Ghost Town in California to shoot their creepy film, but they soon find themselves fighting a real terrifying threat when a clan of mean, bloodthirsty vampires emerge from beneath the surface and start attacking the group. The teens, headed by Brin and the egotistical director Anaya Frost, have no help from the outside and become outnumbered by the vampires a hundred to one. But when Brin meets Paul, a helpful and smoldering vampire outcast who's had enough of his shameful life, she realizes he might be the only key to her survival.

Review : Masque Of The Red Death by Bethany Griffin

Image
Summary (from Goodreads) Everything is in ruins. A devastating plague has decimated the population. And those who are left live in fear of catching it as the city crumbles to pieces around them. So what does Araby Worth have to live for? Nights in the Debauchery Club, beautiful dresses, glittery make-up . . . and tantalizing ways to forget it all. But in the depths of the club—in the depths of her own despair—Araby will find more than oblivion. She will find Will, the terribly handsome proprietor of the club. And Elliott, the wickedly smart aristocrat. Neither boy is what he seems. Both have secrets. Everyone does. And Araby may find something not just to live for, but to fight for—no matter what it costs her. Personal Thoughts When you look at the cover of Masque Of The Red Death, you expect a dark story. Dark is exactly what this book is. Going into the story, I had huge expectations because of all the hype surrounding it. Luckily, Masque Of The Red Death did not let me down. T
