Monthly Recap : July 2015

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone had a lovely July! I can't believe how quickly time has flown this month. It's like my summer started just a few weeks ago and I already have to get ready to head back to college. It's too bittersweet to even think about my summer being over again. *sighs*

Anyways, my month wasn't very exciting. All I did was get caught up on sleeping and I read a lot, which is always exciting. Plus, I'm really proud of myself for reading a ton of non-ARC books. I think about 75% of what I read in June were non-ARCs. I got hooked onto Elle Kennedy's Killer Instinct series and basically binge-read all the books. Now, I'm dying for the next one which doesn't come out until 2016. I also read a few other series including The Beautiful and the Dispossessed and the Midnight Thief duology. I think this upcoming month I'll read the Unearthly series. I want to tackle another series, but I'm not sure which one just yet. I was also able to re-read some books this month and it just made me realize how much I missed re-reading. I feel like I need to make it a goal to re-read at least one favorite book a month. I've also been writing a review a day which means I'm up to date on my review backlog. I hope I can keep up this trend once school and work starts.

Here's my reading recap for this month!

Number of books read
41
You can see a list of all the books I read this past month here.

Highest rating
5 Stars (I rated 4 books 5 stars)

Him by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon
When a Scot Ties the Knot by Tessa Dare
Sustained by Emma Chase

Lowest rating
DNF

Hunter by Mercedes Lackey

I'm really disappointed with this book. I mean it's a book about a girl fighting huge monsters, so I was really excited but I struggled with the way the story was told. There was so much info-dumping. I DNFed at about 20%. :(

Best read of the month

All of the 5 stars books mentioned above. I can't choose! It's too hard!

Book which surprised me the most

The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick
This book just wasn't what I was expecting it to be sadly. I was hoping for something similar to My Life Next Door, basically a romance-driven book, but this was so much darker and I'm still not sure how I feel about the book entirely. I was expecting to LOOVE it, but it was a bit of a disappointment. :(

Fictional crush of the month

I met a lot of new book boyfriends this month but since I can only pick one, I"m going with Logan from When a Scot Ties the Knot. You guys he READS Pride & Prejudice (one of my all-time favorite books!) and wears a kilt!! Irresistible, I tell you! This man made me swoon way too hard throughout the book. Plus, look at the muscles on that cover model!

Three books I'm looking forward to reading next month
