Welcome to Boomerang.com, the dating site for the millennial gen with its no-fuss, no-commitments matchups, and where work is steamier than any random hook-up

Mia Galliano is an aspiring filmmaker. Ethan Vance has just played his last game as a collegiate soccer star. They’re sharp, hungry for success, and they share a secret.

Last night, Ethan and Mia met at a bar, and, well . . . one thing led to another, which led to them waking up the next morning—together. Things turned awkward in a hurry when they found themselves sharing a post hookup taxi . . . to the same place: Boomerang headquarters.

What began as a powerful connection between them is treated to a cold shower courtesy of two major complications. First, Boomerang has a strict policy against co-worker dating. And second, they’re now competitors for only one job at the end of summer.

As their internships come to an end, will they manage to keep their eyes on the future and their hands off each other, or will the pull of attraction put them right back where they started?

Personal Thoughts

When I found out that Veronica Rossi was co-authoring a NA novel, I was quick to add Boomerang to my to-read list. She's one of my favorite authors and I was curious to see how her talent would extend to the New Adult genre. What a delightful read this was!

The pair Noelle August penned a light and refreshing NA book that will appeal to a wide range of readers, even those who dislike the genre because Boomerang, told in the dual POVs of Mia and Ethan, was unlike any other NA book I've read. Both Mia and Ethan were instantly likeable characters with their complex and loveable personalities. Mia, especially, was a breath of fresh air with her fiery personality. This girl didn't mince her words, knew how to stand up for herself, and cared deeply for the people around her. Ethan too was such a fresh character. He was a gentleman through and through and if you're like me and are sick of the repetitive bad boys of NA, you're going to love Ethan. Moreover, there was absolutely no angst in these characters nor did they have a scarring past. Both Mia and Ethan grew up in healthy homes and maintained great relationships with their families. I've read so many NA books with characters who have had so much pain in their life, it has made me numb (as awful as that makes me sound), so I found these two characters to be very much original.

Boomerang's romance was also very well-written. It was slow and took its time to develop. There was nothing instant about it except for the instant attraction between Ethan and Mia, which I thought was plausible. Because they wind up being "rivals" for the same position at this online dating company, they decide to have a platonic relationship. I loved their banter together and they were a couple who kept each other on the tip of their toes. Readers who are also sick of how explicit and crude the sex scenes in NA are getting are also going to appreciate Boomerang for how calm it was when it came to sexy-times. The scenes never bordered on overly descriptive, but still managed to be enticing enough. I also really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes of the online dating company. I loved it when Mia and Ethan were in their work-place and had fun reading about the different dates they had to go on as part of their job. The writing was smooth and had a nice flow to it. Often times when a book is written by two authors, I'm worried about the book feeling choppy, but thankfully, Boomerang never felt like that to me.

Boomerang was a different kind of NA book in that it read more like a chick-lit without all the silly moments. It was fresh, entertaining and well-written with complex and realistic characters. I'm hoping that we'll get to see more works by Noelle August in the future!
