Personal Thoughts

Falling for the Groomsman by Jen McLaughlin

The first book in the series, Falling for the Groomsman might have been my favorite book in The Wedding Dare Series. It utilizes one of my favorite romantic trope: second-chance romance and the romance between Christine and Tyler was smoking! The two characters were also very likeable from the very start. Christine, a journalist, has had troubles with men ever since her encounter with her best friend's older brother in Mexico. Tyler, a doctor, tries his hardest to resist the red-head, but he can't deny the intense chemistry between the two of them. What made the romance so fun to read in this book was the banter between the two characters. It also helped that sparks would fly whenever the couple were in a room together. I loved that their romance was pretty much straight forward without too many obstacles along the way. A fun, sexy and drama-free romance story!

Baiting the Maid of Honor by Tessa Bailey
Find out more!

Ahh Tessa Bailey! You never disappoint. The only reason I wanted to even read this series in the first place was because I love Tessa Bailey's books, no matter how repetitive they are. She's one author who pulls you into her story with her fantastic characters (and her dirty talking heroes!). Julie was a sweet-heart of a character. At her best friend's wedding, she meets Reed, who is unlike any man she's ever met: arrogant, stubborn and a total alpha male. She tries her hardest to avoid any contact with him, but she can't help but there's a magnetic force between them that she can't and doesn't want to deny. Reed, while a total alpha-male, typical of all Tessa Bailey heroes, was also a sweetheart. I love the little tender moments in the book where he looks out for Julie, like cleaning up after a party and making sure she eats something while she's hosting and planning the wedding. If you've read a Tessa Bailey novel in the past, then you know how good she is at writing romances that are quick, hot (HOTT!) and very entertaining. Baiting the Maid of Honor definitely delivered such a romance.

Seducing the Bridesmaid by Katee Robert

This was my least favorite book in the series only because the main character, Regan, was unlikeable to the point where she simply frustrated me with her attitude. What kept me reading the book though was Brock, her love interest. Regan was infuriating with how she treated Brock like a bug that she could squash whenever she wanted. Her behavior towards him was quite frankly despicable and why yet Brock pursued her was beyond me. He deserved someone a lot better than someone as bitchy as Regan. Her sudden change in personality when she found out that he founded his own company also left a really sour taste in my mouth. Despite my dislike for Regan, I can't deny that the attraction between her and Brock was very well-written. Their constant sparring, especially, was a highlight of the book for me. I was sad that I couldn't enjoy this one as much as the rest of the series, but Regan was simply too much for me. I reckon other readers won't have much of a problem with her as I did.

Best Man with Benefits by Samanthe Beck
Find out more!

I was a bit wary going into this book because of how painfully shy Sophie appeared to be in the first three books. I thought her overly innocent nature was going to induce some eye-rolling moments, but Samanthe Beck managed to write the story without going too much into the cheesy zone. I loved watching Sophie come out of her shell throughout the book and becoming more confident with her voluptuous body over the course of the story. I can imagine how having been bullied most of her life for her larger body size had an impact on her adult life too. But thankfully, Logan (*swoon*) was there to help guide her and show her how beautiful she really is. Their romance was probably the steamiest in the series because of how intense it was. Overall, this was my first Samanthe Beck book, but I'll be willing to read more from her in the future.

Overall Series

I thought this was a fun ride and I loved watching to see all the couples come together in each book. I would recommend it if you're looking for something that's short, sexy and has some great characters and dialogues. I hope Brazen comes up with more series like The Wedding Dare series where a bunch of authors get to collaborate.
