Author ; Ophelia London
Publication Date : October 28th 2013

Publisher : Entangled Embrace
Goodreads - Amazon - Barnes & Noble

Spring Honeycutt wants two things: to ace her sustainable living thesis and to save the environment. Both seem hopelessly unobtainable until her college professor suggests that with a new angle, her paper could be published. Spring swears she’ll do whatever it takes to ensure that happens.

“Whatever it takes,” however, means forming a partnership with the very hot, very privileged, very conceited Henry Knightly.

Henry is Spring's only hope at publication, but he's also the über-rich son of a land developer and cash-strapped Spring’s polar opposite. Too bad she can't help being attracted to the way he pushes her buttons, both politically and physically. As they work on her thesis, Spring finds there's more to Henry than his old money and argyle sweaters…but can she drop the loud-and-proud act long enough to let him in? Suddenly, choosing between what she wants and what she needs puts Spring at odds with everything she believes in.

Definitely, Maybe in Love is a modern take on Pride and Prejudice that proves true love is worth risking a little pride.

Personal Thoughts

Most of my regular readers are aware of what a huge fan of Pride & Prejudice I am. So obviously when I found out that Definitely, Maybe in Love was a modern retelling of one of my favorite classics, I jumped to the opportunity to read it. Definitely, Maybe in Love was one of the cutest P&P retelling I have ever read and I don't regret reading it one bit.

Spring and Henry are the perfect epitome of Elizabeth and Darcy and I loved how true to their characters the authors remained. Elizabeth and Darcy are both likeable for their own reasons which made Spring and Henry also enjoyable. Spring was undoubtedly a favorite.  She was a strong, level-headed young woman who wasn't afraid to speak out her mind and those are admirable characteristics in main characters. I will admit that at times, she went a bit too far with her feminist ways and that could be slightly annoying. I did, however, enjoy her passion for environmentalism. Now Henry him, was just so loveable. He definitely had his arrogant side which made him completely like Darcy, but his arrogance never bordered on belittlement and condescension. There's nothing much I can say about him because he was just so damn precious.

The romance was similar to Pride & Prejudice in that it began antagonistically. And it was SO MUCH FUN! I loved the banter between Spring and Henry and they could get hilarious at times. Of course, we slowly began to watch these two fall in love and the experience was fabulous. I don't think I'll ever get tired of antagonistic romances. They are always so enjoyable.

Overall, Definitely, Maybe in Love is a strong retelling according to me and one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend if you are a fan of the NA genre. This is definitely one book to read when you're looking for something fun.
