Sometimes two wrongs can make a right...

Bad boy wrangler, Archer Kane, lives fast and loose. Words like responsibility and commitment send him running in the opposite direction. Until a wild Vegas weekend puts him on a collision course with Eden Bankcroft-Kew, a New York heiress running away from her blackmailing fiancé…the morning of her wedding.

Eden has never understood the big attraction to cowboys. Give her a guy in a tailored suit any day of the week. But now all she can think about is Mr. Rugged Handsome, six-feet of sinfully sexy country charm with a pair of green eyes that keeps her tossing and turning all night long.

Archer might be the wrong guy for a woman like her, but she's not right in thinking he'll walk away without fighting for her heart. And maybe, just maybe, two wrongs can make a right.

Personal Thoughts

There is just something about small town romances that draws me into books and leaves me in a bubble of happiness for days. Having enjoyed Lia Riley's Last First Kiss and liking the snippets of Archer and Edie that the reader saw, I was looking forward to reading Right Wrong Guy. I started the book with much excitement and by the time I finished, I was grinning and smiling and my heart was singing because this is the kind of romance that I love love love reading about.

When we first meet Archer, he has just woken up after a threesome in Vegas with two strangers. I was sure that I would have a hard time warming up to his character because manwhores are not my preferred book boyfriends. In fact, I usually avoid them. But boy was I wrong! As soon as Archer started to open up to readers, I was in love. This man may have had issues with commitment and slept through his small town of Brightwater, but he realized that his behavior with women wasn't normal. All his sleeping around was an outlet for him for not living up to his brothers. However, he was a man who was willing to change and Edie was the perfect woman to propel that change in him. The fact that he took the steps to change his ways made him so much more attractive. Add to that, he was a sexy, kind hearted, caring and supportive cowboy who was secretly a big huggable bear behind that playboy surface, I was guaranteed to love him.

More than I loved Archer, I loved Edie. This was a girl who was after my own heart. After finding out that her fiance was marrying her for money, she took a leap and decided to run away from her high society life with Archer to Brightwater on her wedding day. I was proud of Edie for the way she handled her situation. I loved watching her settle down in Brightwater and opening up her cafe, despite some wariness and obstacles from the town people. Edie was an independent woman and I love that she didn't wallow in her loss, but instead picked up the pieces of her life and built herself a successful career. She was such a role-model and an inspiration to readers, in my opinion. The secondary characters were also great fun in Right Wrong Guy. I especially enjoyed Grandma Kane and her grouchy antics.

The romance in Right Wrong Guy was just so lovely. To say that I loved it would be quite the understatement. This was the perfect kind of romance for me. It started off slow, but with lots of sexual tension between Archer and Edie. We slowly watched as this romance blossomed from friendship into something more. What made this romance so strong was how much Archer was willing to work to make it work. He pushed through her to show her that he was a man worthy of her love and affection and to show her that he was a changed man. What ensued was some great wooing on Archer's part and lots of swooning on mine. This was a romance that was sweet and passionate and so completely beautiful. More than anything, I loved how Edie and Archer were a couple that communicated and were open about their feelings with each other.

Besides the romance, Right Wrong Guy also explored the theme of revenge porn. I studied the topic in a media class last year for a paper I had to write, and it's something I'm very passionate about. I thought Lia Riley showed it in an authentic way, showing how the people you think are close to you can destroy your life within a few seconds and how the internet is forever. My heart broke for Edie when it happened and I was angry for her. I was glad to finally see the perpetrator get what he deserved. The small town setting was also quite wonderful and I felt myself being transported to the mountains and ranches of Brightwater.

Lia Riley's Right Wrong Guy was an even stronger novel than Last First Kiss. This is a series that I can't recommend enough to all of you readers who believe in happily ever afters and the swooniest of swooniest romances. Now, I cannot wait to read Wilder's book because I  have no doubt it will be just as amazing!

Author Interview

Hi Lia! I'm so excited to have you on Nick's Book Blog for the blog tour of Right Wrong Guy.

Thank you so much for hosting me on your lovely blog!

First, can you tell us a little bit about the book in a Tweet (140 characters)?

Oooh, I do love a good challenge *cracks knuckles*

Right Wrong Guy stars a runaway bride and a bad boy wrangler who have to learn how to stop running from themselves and chase what they really want in life.

Romance is something that I absolutely love reading in books. It's almost always a requirement of mine to read a book. As a writer, what makes you want to write swoony romances? More specifically, why romances with sexy cowboys?

I am a SUCH A SUCKER for a happily-ever-after and my books always need to have at least a leeeeeetle kissing. While I occasionally adore stepping outside the romance genre to read something like Game of Thrones, 99% of the time I want to close the book with a sigh and smile as love wins the day. As for sexy cowboys, I'll make a confession (uses whisper voice). Like my Right Wrong Guy heroine, Eden, I used to much prefer a Scottish laird or angst-ridden brooder to a guy in Wranglers or a Stetson. However, my personal writing mantra is CHALLENGE THYSELF and thus a series of three cowboy brothers was concocted and I fell in love with these guys just like their ladies. There is something intrinsically sexy about rugged earthy men backdropped by sweeping landscapes, plus they are so good with their hands ;)

In the first book, Annie was a blogger and now in Right Wrong Guy, Edie owns a cafe. I love how the ladies in the Brightwater series are so strong and independent. Is it important to you to have these great feminist themes in your novels and why?

I am a proud feminist so thank you so much for saying that! I enjoy writing strong (but believably flawed) women and men who have the guts to accept them for who they are without ever being threatened by their potential. Those are the happiest real life relationships I see and it's the dynamic I strive for with my own real life Right Guy.

Now, I haven't met all of the Kane brothers yet completely, but who would you say was your favorite out of the boys and why?

Oh man, that's a hard choice. You can't make me choose between my babies, but I'll try (sigh). I love Sawyer but he might be a little too perfect for me. Archer surprised the heck out of me with his hidden depths. But I'll be honest, Wilder in Book #3 probably has my forever heart. He was a tough nut to crack but I loved watching him become a hero who'd fight for his own redemption.

What can we expect next from the Brightwater series and your future works?

The next book in the Brightwater series is Best Worst Mistake. It's out in October and stars the enigmatic Wilder Kane. If you like the Beauty and the Beast trope (one of my all time favorites), then you'll probably dig the story. This book is a little heavier than Right Wrong Guy but still has lots of humor and heart. The heroine Quinn Higsby waltzed in from some mysterious part of my brain and stole the plot and the hero (originally I was going to have him matched to a different character but Quinn wouldn't have it). You'll also continue to get to know Grandma Kane who is one of my favorite characters at this point, she is a lady who makes mistakes but deep down has her heart in the right place.

What else is new? I also have a super short, super sexy New Adult novella out on September 8th called INTO YOUR ARMS that will close out my Off the Map series (my editor calls it the billionaire fish book for REASONS and the hero has a touch phobia). I am also releasing a single title New Adult December 29th called WITH EVERY BREATH that is probably my darkest book to date (although again has humor) and stars a verra verra broody Scottish mountain climber. In fact, that book drained me so much that I wrote Right Wrong Guy to be fluffy, happy and light to clear my head. I owe a lot to Archer for getting me back to a bright and cheerful state of mind.

As for 2016, right now all I can say is lots of possibilities are out there, all of them exciting :)

Thanks for taking your time to answer these questions, Lia!

Thank you so much for having me on xoxoxo

Author Biography

Lia Riley writes offbeat New Adult and Contemporary Adult romance. After studying at the University of Montana-Missoula, she scoured the world armed only with a backpack, overconfidence and a terrible sense of direction. She counts shooting vodka with a Ukranian mechanic in Antarctica, sipping yerba mate with gauchos in Chile and swilling XXXX with stationhands in Outback Australia among her accomplishments.

A British literature fanatic at heart, Lia considers Mr. Darcy and Edward Rochester as her fictional boyfriends. Her very patient husband doesn't mind. Much. When not torturing heroes (because c'mon, who doesn't love a good tortured hero?), Lia herds unruly chickens, camps, beach combs, daydreams about future books, wades through a mile-high TBR pile and schemes yet another trip. Right now, Icelandic hot springs and Scottish castles sound mighty fine.
