#1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews launches a brand new Hidden Legacy series, in which one woman must place her trust in a seductive, dangerous man who sets off an even more dangerous desire…

Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile case. Nevada isn’t sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.

Then she’s kidnapped by Connor “Mad” Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run or surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.

Rogan’s after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she’s getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.

Personal Thoughts

Based on just that horrid cover, I had decided that Burn For Me was not going to be the book for me. Then the blogosphere exploded with reviews for the book and EVERYONE I know absolutely loved it. That's reason no. 1 why I love the blogging world so much. They force you to discover and read a book and BAM, you're in love along with them too. This book, you guys! It was so good. I'm going to have a hard time articulating my love for it.

The protagonist, Nevada, was so great. I formed a connection with her almost instantly and throughout the book, my feelings for her never wavered. She was bold, sassy and strong, all features that I adore in my main characters. Perhaps what made her such an awesome character in my eyes though was her loyalty and devotion to her family. This girl clearly loved her family and this was visible throughout the whole book. She's the kind of person who would put herself in the face of danger to protect her family. She entirely too endearing and her gentleness, coupled with her badassness is what made her such a delightful character, easy to root for. And then there was Mad Rogan ... SWOON! I had heard a lot about him from the reviews, but that doesn't mean I was prepared for THAT. Mad Rogan was a complete alpha-male, but the kind of alpha-male that I enjoy. The man just oozed raw sexuality and confidence. He was very very very very attractive (If he was real, I would not be ashamed to throw myself at him. I have no self-respect!). Another appealing part about Mad Rogan was his mysteriousness. He certainly has some huge secrets and I'm going to enjoy myself watching Nevada slowly unravel them over the course of the series.

In addition to some fantastic main characters, Burn For Me also had a great cast of secondary characters. I absolutely adored Nevada's family. I loved how close they all were and how protective they were with each other. My favorite has to be Grandma Frida. This lady is not afraid to recognize a sexy man or two! ;) She brought about some hilarious scenes into the book. The romance between Nevada and Mad Rogan was still at its nascent stage at the end of the book, but I loved the slow burn nature and these two certainly shared the amount of chemistry enough to blow off a building. And the banter, you guys! It was so much fun! It was filled with innuendos from Mad Rogan's side and sass from Nevada's side, a delightful combination! I'm really excited to see how these two authors explore this romantic relationship. The world building and the plot were also brilliantly written. The world building, especially, coupled with the addictive writing of this duo, I thought was amazing. Illona Andrews built up the setting so well, providing readers with the enough historical background to satisfy. I was fascinated by the concept of magic and its potential side effects in the human world. The plot too, was, action-packed from start to finish. I was never bored while reading Burn For Me.

When it comes to Burn For Me, I have absolutely no complaints other than I can't possibly wait too long for the next book in the series. With magic, strong characters and a sizzling romance, this is a series that is going to blow readers away.
