Your presence is requested at romantic Twill Castle for the wedding of Miss Clio Whitmore and . . . and . . . ?

After eight years of waiting for Piers Brandon, the wandering Marquess of Granville, to set a wedding date, Clio Whitmore has had enough. She's inherited a castle, scraped together some pride, and made plans to break her engagement.

Not if Rafe Brandon can help it. A ruthless prizefighter and notorious rake, Rafe is determined that Clio will marry his brother—even if he has to plan the dratted wedding himself.

So how does a hardened fighter cure a reluctant bride's cold feet?

● He starts with flowers. A wedding can't have too many flowers. Or harps. Or cakes.

● He lets her know she'll make a beautiful, desirable bride—and tries not to picture her as his.

● He doesn't kiss her.

● If he kisses her, he definitely doesn't kiss her again.

● When all else fails, he puts her in a stunning gown. And vows not to be nearby when the gown comes off.

● And no matter what—he doesn't fall in disastrous, hopeless love with the one woman he can never call his own.

Personal Thoughts

Tessa Dare writes the BEST cute historical romances that leave you in a swoony mood and a silly grin because of just how adorable they are. Say Yes to the Marquess was no different. In a typical Tessa Dare fashion, she managed to charm my pants off.

I adored the characters in Say Yes to the Marquess. Clio, especially, was a complete sweetheart who managed to make me love her as much as the hero. I loved her strength and her independence in the face of everything. I loved the girl's determination and just how gracious and good-natured she was, qualities that I certainly enjoy in my historical romance characters. Then there's Rafe, who was basically built of swoon at the core. He has a little bit of a rough history, but it wasn't anything to angsty to push me away. Instead, it simply made me fall for this guy even harder. Every single time he would open his mouth, I would basically wind up as a puddle of goo. He sure knew how to charm a girl.

The romance between Clio and Rafe was fantastic. It was slow burn and so believable. At the beginning of the book, Clio who has been engaged to Rafe's brother for years decides she's tired of waiting and moves into a castle she inherited. Rafe won't have that and he is convinced that Clio should marry his brother. So he follows her to her castle, determined to push Clio into the marriage. With their differing personalities, what ensued was a fun book with tons of humorous banter that had me giggling like crazy and scenes that had me howling in laughter. You guys! The romance between these two was so sweet. I just loved how they fall in love with each other despite trying their best not to. The chemistry between them was smoldering. And the castle setting added so much intensity to the romance. I was definitely in love with this book.

Fans of Tessa Dare should have no trouble enjoying Say Yes to the Marquess. It is historical romance at its finest. I highly recommend this book and this author if you're looking for feel-good historical romances.
