Willa Peet isn’t interested in love. She’s been there, done that, and has the shattered heart to prove it. Ready to shake the breakup, she heads to Dublin, Ireland. But there’s a problem. A dark-haired, blue-eyed problem with a bad attitude that rivals her own. And he’s not doling out friendly Irish welcomes.

Shane Claymore just wants to race. The death of his father forced him off the Formula One circuit, but he’s only staying in Dublin long enough to sell the Claymore Inn and get things in order for his mother and younger sister. He never expected the sarcastic American girl staying at the inn to make him question everything.

But even as Willa and Shane’s fiery natures draw them together, their pasts threaten to rip them apart. Can Shane give up racing to be with the woman he loves, or will Willa’s quest to resurrect the tough-talking, no-shit-taking girl she used to be destroy any hope of a future together?

Personal Thoughts

Tessa Bailey is one author who I always turn to whenever I want to read a smexy book with an alpha male in it. They are short, sexy and all kinds of fun, definitely the kind of books I like to read in between YA books. I've devoured every book of hers and Unfixable, her newest NA novel, was no exception. I enjoyed every minute that I spent reading this book.

Bailey's sassy character and alpha-male heroes might be overused in many adult/NA contemporary reads, but they still work well for me because of the way the author goes about developing them. Willa, the main character in Unfixable, was someone I instantly liked. She's bold, fun and doesn't mince her words. She does have her flaws though, one of which is running away from her issues. However, over the course of the book, a certain blue-eyed Irishman helps her to overcome this flaw of hers. Willa was a great character and I especially liked how passionate she was when it came to her photography. Shane, her love interest, was smoking! He was definitely a typical Tessa Bailey guy, but he has to be one of my favorites! He was more than just a possessive guy. He was running his family's bar and looking after his younger sister and his mentally ill mother. You've got to love a guy who takes care of his family. Swoon!

The romance in Unfixable was one of my favorite kinds, hate to love! I'm one of those readers who loves it when a couple dislikes each other so much at first and eventually this hatred turns into sweltering chemistry. I like to call it the I-want-to-throttle-you-but-at-the-same-time-I-want-to-rip-your-clothes-off kind of romance. There's something just ridiculously fun about these kinds of relationships, so I certainly adored the romance in Unfixable. Willa and Shane have great chemistry together and that was clear from the first scene. While they were obviously attracted to each other, their romance did not progress rapidly. They became really good friends, sharing their fears and thoughts with each other before actually falling into bed. Their romance was steamy and at the same time really sweet. While that was my favorite part in Unfixable was one of my favorite parts of the story, I also loved reading about all the adventures Willa went through when she went to visit places all over Ireland. It made me feel like I was right alongside her.

Overall, if you're a Tessa Bailey fan or if you enjoy romance-driven contemporary stories, this is going to most likely appeal to you. It's the perfect short, romantic and sexy book to read in between other books.
