Blog Tour Stop : Addicted for Now by Becca & Krista Ritchie

The Addicted for Now Blog Tour was organized by YA Bound Book Tours.

Hi guys!

I'm so excited for the Addicted for Now blog tour today. I only recently started this series and so far, I'm in LOVE! It's such a great a NA series, one that I would strongly recommend to each and everyone of you, even if you are not a fan of the genre, because it's highly educative. Anyways, as part of the tour, I've reviewed both books, Addicted to You and Addicted for Now in a single review and I also have a giveaway. Be sure to check out the other tour stops here.

He's addicted to booze. She's addicted to sex...staying sober is only half the battle.

No. More. Sex.

Those are the three words Lily Calloway fears the most. But Loren Hale is determined to be with Lily without enabling her dangerous compulsions. With their new living situation—sleeping in the same bed, for real, together—Lily has new battles. Like not jumping Lo’s bones every night. Not being consumed by sex and his body.

Loren plans to stay sober, to right all of his wrongs. So when someone threatens to expose Lily’s secret to her family and the public, he promises that he’ll do anything to protect her. But with old enemies surfacing, Lo has more at stake than his sobriety.

They will torment Lily until Lo breaks.

And his worst fear isn’t relapsing. He hears the end. He sees it. The one thing that could change everything. Just three words.

No. More. Us

Personal Thoughts

Before I start my review for this book, I want to say a HUGE thank you to one of my blogging besties, Siiri @ Little Pieces of Imaginations, for convincing me to give this series a shot. Without her, I would never have discovered the brilliance that is Becca and Krista Ritchie. So, thanks so much, Siiri! <3 br="">You guys! This series! This damn series messed up with my feels so much. I haven't read a series this good in a long time and I basically devoured the 2 books in a couple of days, staying up late in order to finish them. Not only was it entertaining, but it was highly educative, teaching me things about addictions that I had not known before.

What makes this NA series a fantastic one are the characters. These are characters that are portrayed in such a realistic and deep way, it's like they are right in front of you. The authors made sure that each and every character was well-developed and had a solid back story. There isn't one character that I felt detached from because they were all well-fleshed out. Lily, especially, was an intriguing character. Being inside her head was such a befuddling experience, but at the same time, I loved being inside her head. The reader gets to watch her sex addiction destroy her mentally and emotionally and all you want to do is shake her by the shoulders and make her see what she's doing to herself. Throughout the series, we watch her try to grow and try to overcome her problems, but her path to her recovery was always full of struggles. Besides Lily, we are introduced to her best friend, Lo, an alcohol addict. Lo was yet another fascinating character and despite the issues he had, I loved him. He was loyal, sweet and caring whenever he had to be. Lily and Lo together seemed pretty much like a disaster because of their issues and I was wary of them as a couple, but they were portrayed as realistic. Their problems did not magically disappear once they were together, but over the course of the 2 books we gradually watch them begin to heal for the sake of each other.

In addition to the wonderful main characters, the Addicted series also has some of the best secondary characters that I've ever read about. I Loved everyone of them and loved they all had a big role in the book. I especially liked Connor, Rose, Daisy and Ryke and I'm beyond excited that they are getting their own books. The dynamics between the characters was a blast and they each had their own personality which made them unique. Romance was undoubtedly one of the major themes of the book what with the steaming chemistry Lily and Lo had, but what was even better was the incorporation of friendship and family in such a thorough manner. Very rarely do we see family being a big part of NA books, so I was very much pleased with it in this series. Onto the most important parts of the book ; the handling of the 2 addictions. I personally don't know much about either of the two forms of addiction handled in the series, so it was eye-opening in so many ways. I learned so much from this book. Watching how their addictions not only affected their health but also that of the people around them was an educative experience. The writing was also stunning. It was simple, but it managed to grasp my attention from the very start. Becca and Krista Ritchie are forces to be reckoned in the NA literary world and for me, they are at the top of my favorite NA authors right next to Tammara Webber and Colleen Hoover. Addicted to You and Addicted for Now are two of my favorite reads of this year and I can't wait to see what these 2 ladies have in store for us.

Quite possibly one of the best NA books I've read this year, the Addicted series is one I recommend whole-heartedly. To me, it's pretty much flawless!
