Summary (from Goodreads)

Title : Catching Liam (Good Girls Don't #1)
Author : Sophia Bleu
Publication Date : July 8th 2013
Publisher : Self-Published
Goodreads - Amazon - Barnes & Noble

Twenty-one year-old Jillian Nichols only has one rule when it comes to boys: catch and release. Boy-catching isn't just a game for Jillian and her friends, it's a lifestyle. After all, boys might be good for a dance or a drink and certainly a little under-cover action of the scandalous variety, but expect much else and you're bound for heart ache.

So when her best friends and fellow boy catchers start dropping like flies junior year, Jillian is determined to keep boys in her bedroom and out of her heart. Until she meets Liam McAvoy, the kind of guy that sticks around to make waffles and who can't—or perhaps won't—take a hint.

Study abroad student Liam doesn't want to be another notch on Jillian's bedpost. Actually he has much more interesting ideas for Jillian and her bedposts, but his student visa's set expiration date means he can't promise her forever. That doesn't mean he's going to walk away from the challenge of discovering why Jillian is hell-bent at keeping people at a distance.

Before long, neither is sure who is catching who—or if they're playing for keeps. Jillian knows one thing though: falling in love will not only break the only rule of boy-catching, it could also break her heart.

Personal Thoughts

Every single time I tell myself that I'm over New Adult books, I'm drawn back into the genre by a book here or there. Catching Liam is a book that I could not pass because the blurb made it sound like a cute read without an overwhelming amount of drama. And sure enough, like I predicted, it was a totally fun and adorable read, perfect for a hot summer day.

Jillian was not the most likeable character when we first meet her in Catching Liam. She was reserved, kept people at a distance and she whined a lot. Plus, it was hard to like her when she used guys just for one night stands. Over the course of the book, I grew more attached to her, because I slowly started to understand the circumstances she was in. We finally do get to know why she doesn't get attached to guys and why she refuses to share her life with them. I thought it was understandable and I liked her much better by that point. When Liam enters her life, he turns it completely upside down. He was unlike any of the guys Jillian had previously slept with and it seemed like he actually cared for her. Liam was a sweet guy and it was hard not to enjoy his character. Plus, he was from Scotland. It's very hard to resist his Scottish charms! He was also hilarious. You guys need to read this book to find out why Scottish men wear kilts. I almost died laughing when I found out! Despite that, it was Liam's big heart and supportive attitude towards Jillian that made him such a loveable guy. It also helped that he said some of the swoon-worthiest things too. My favorite character in Catching Liam was Jess! I loved that girl so much! She's the best friend every girl needs in her life. She was such a pillar to Jillian and she was always there when Jillian needed her the most. She was definitely the shining star in the book for me and I can't wait for her story next! (Well, hopefully it's hers!)

The attraction between Jillian and Liam was instant, but the romance developed slowly. In so many NA books the couple faces over-dramatic obstacles in their relationship and that can get tiring after a while. I liked that in Catching Liam, the characters don't face such over the top hurdles. They do come across a couple of obstructions during the growth of their relationship, but I thought it was quite realistic. I was also pleasantly surprised that this wasn't just a book about a romance. The author also tackles a medical issue in the form of early on-set Parkinson's disease. She perfectly nailed the insecurities and fears that a Parkinson's patient might face in their life. I also loved how she depicted the friendship between Jillian and Jess. It was heart-warming and realistic. Sophia Bleu has gained a fan after Catching Liam! I'm seriously looking forward to reading more from her!

Humorous, light and fun, Catching Liam is the perfect summer read for all you readers who want laze in the sun with a book. Fans of NA will undoubtedly enjoy this cute read!

Top Qualities of a Book Boyfriend

He should provide valuable services.  Okay, get your mind out of the gutter!  Non-conjugal services.  For instance, I love food.  I hate to cook. Give me a book boyfriend who can whip up some amazing breakfast.  Or since I can’t play an instrument,  a guitar player would be hot.

I want him to be ripped without wasting too much time at the gym.  This is a fantasy, right?  I don’t want my boy getting sweaty on the weight bench, when he could be getting sweaty doing other things.  Okay, now my mind is in the gutter.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T!  I’ll admit that I get a little flustered when a book boyfriend swoops in to save the day, but I don’t need him to boss me around or go 100% alpha male.  I only want to be barefoot in the kitchen while he makes me breakfast.

The cliche is true.  I want a guy who makes me laugh.  Life is serious enough, my book boyfriend needs to be able to break the tension.

And book boyfriends should always put their dirty clothes in the hamper.  Every woman’s fantasy.
