Goodreads -Amazon

Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.

Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind.

With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.

But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew’s dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?

Personal Thoughts

Before I started this book, I had heard from some of my Goodreads friends about how good this book was. No, scratch that. I heard about how hot Andrew was! Well, that's all it took to convince me that I should just start reading the book right away. Was the book worth reading? Hell yeah!

One reason I really enjoy the New Adult genre is because all the characters have baggage. This makes sure that they are well-fleshed out, multi-layered and hence, well-written. The characters in The Edge of Never were no different. At the start of the book, Camryn was a sad and very depressed young woman with no idea of what she wanted to do with her life. The death of her boyfriend along with other problems in her life had left her completely emotionally battered. When her best friend decides to believe her boyfriend over her, Camryn decides that she has had enough and leaves town with no idea of where to go. Unknowingly, she winds up on a road trip with Andrew. Throughout the road trip, Camryn started to slowly grow as a character. You see her begin to learn more about who she really is deep down and loving that part of herself. She bloomed from this tragic, sad young girl to a fun and happy kind of girl with the help of Andrew. Because of that, I thought she was relate-able and I had no problem being in synch with her character. Her pain became my pain. Her happiness became my happiness. The love interest Andrew was very surprising. When we first meet him, he was this happy-go-lucky, annoying-in-a-cute-way kind of guy. He was just full of life. As the story progressed though, it became clear that Andrew was hiding his sorrow and insecurities behind his optimistic attitude. My heart broke for his situation, but I really liked how brave he was. I loved that he put a brave-face on, no matter what was going on with him. He was a real sweet-heart and very loveable.

This is a New Adult book, so I can't really review the book without talking about the romance. As expected of all NA books, the romance was hot. I liked the fact that the two characters really grew to know each other before jumping into any kind of relationship. There was nothing instant about the attraction between them. Instead, it was one that slowly grew as they got to know each other and became comfortable around each other. I thought Andrew and Camryn were a couple that complemented each other. They were a perfect match for each other. Both had their issues and helped each other through their obstacles in a way. Andrew and Camryn formed a couple that at the same time was sweet and oozed sexual tension. Every single time they would touch, sparks flew all over the page. At first, I never expected Andrew to be so ... sexual because he was a really down-to-earth, sweet guy who didn't really seem to show much of his "beastly" side ( :P I didn't know how to describe his side ), but I'm not complaining. A warning though, Andrew is possessive in bed, so if you're not into that kind of thing, I wouldn't recommend you reading this book. The sex scenes were also very explicit. Overall though it was the kind of romance that gives you butterflies in the stomach! Like many NA, this book also packed a lot of emotional themes. Lately, I've been noticing a trend with NA titles. They seem to go a little overboard with the whole "main character with issues" thing, so they have a tendency to be too dramatic. Fortunately, I thought The Edge of Never had the perfect dose of drama. The pacing of the story was perfect. We begin by learning about the characters slowly and then later seeing them mature. I thought the writing was very gripping since it pulled me in from the first page and had me reading until the book ended.

All in all, The Edge of Never is a book that will undoubtedly appeal to all fans of the New Adult sub-genre. It's emotional and real, making it easy to like. The Edge of Never is a book about letting go off your sadness and living life to fullest. I think it's definitely worth reading!

Author of THE DARKWOODS TRILOGY and DIRTY EDEN, mother, werewolf & zombie

Walking Dead”.

Addictions: Starbucks every morning, trolling Barnes & Noble’s shelves once a week, detesting
winter, shopping flea markets and preparing for the collapse of society as we know it. Do I own a

I was born in Arkansas and have lived here most of my life, except the couple of times when
I lived in Pennsylvania. I started my first novel at the age of thirteen and have been writing
something ever since. Generally, I love characters in life and on paper. I pay attention to people,
especially those whose personalities make them different from the rest of us: the drug addict
roaming the Laundromat that talks to himself, the young, inattentive mother in the park with the
meanest kid on the playground – (the entire cast of ‘Swamp People’) – characters fascinate me
and I hope that it shows in my literary work.
