Monthly Recap : September 2015

Image
Hey everyone! How did everyone's September go? Mine was pretty good in terms of my personal life. School is obviously kicking my butt and I started my new job as well. I barely have time to read and blog these days, so if you don't see me commenting around as much, that's probably why. I have been good about trying to catch up with reviews over the weekend though. Just last weekend, I wrote 6 reviews! I obviously didn't read as many books as I did the previous month. I think this was my lowest reading month of the year (BOO!), but I'm actually kinda glad that I'm reading slower since I need the break badly. Here's my reading recap for this month! Number of books read 20 You can see a list of all the books I read this past month here . Highest rating  4.5 Stars I saw some buzz around this book a few months ago and decided to request it. This book was amazing and definitely one of my favorites of the year. It also managed to destroy my feels and now I really w...

Monthly Recap : August 2015

Hi everyone! Where on earth is the freaking time flying by? I can't believe we're already in September and are nearing the end of the year. It's crazy how fast time flies!  I'm back in the US now that my summer vacation is finally over. I miss being home and being surrounded by my family. I don't know why, but leaving was very hard for me this time around. My mom had to physically pry me away from my sister so that I could go to my gate. :( My trip back home went smoothly. I was VERY mad about being given a middle seat on my 14 hours flight. I hate sitting in between people on flights, especially long ones because people constantly wake you up when they want to go to the bathroom and I'm always afraid I'll be seated next to someone creepy. So I was upset and wouldn't stop whining about it to my parents on the phone until boarding time. BUT then, the agent at the gate told me I got upgraded to Business class and I was OVER the moon and I about jumped on t...

Monthly Recap : July 2015

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a lovely July! I can't believe how quickly time has flown this month. It's like my summer started just a few weeks ago and I already have to get ready to head back to college. It's too bittersweet to even think about my summer being over again. *sighs* Anyways, my month wasn't very exciting. All I did was get caught up on sleeping and I read a lot, which is always exciting. Plus, I'm really proud of myself for reading a ton of non-ARC books. I think about 75% of what I read in June were non-ARCs. I got hooked onto Elle Kennedy's Killer Instinct series and basically binge-read all the books. Now, I'm dying for the next one which doesn't come out until 2016. I also read a few other series including The Beautiful and the Dispossessed and the Midnight Thief duology. I think this upcoming month I'll read the Unearthly series. I want to tackle another series, but I'm not sure which one just yet. I was also able to re...

Monthly Recap : June 2015

Hey everyone! I hope June was a good month for you all as it was for me. The beginning was definitely hectic what with having to take finals, move out, graduation and flying back home. Those last few days were rough on me. By the time I got back home, my feet were full of blisters because of all the running around. Graduation went really well for me and thankfully, my parents were there to help me move out. I swear they packed my whole apartment in 3 hours. It would have taken me 3 weeks! They were like power bunnies because they wanted to get it all done with. I also signed a lease for an apartment for next year. Getting an apartment as an international student in the US is NOT easy. It's  really expensive too but it feels like Denver is not the cheapest place to live in and with me not wanting to live with other people, it's going to cost me a lot of money. I'll be relying a bit on my parents for help. Anyways, enough complaining! I'm so excited to be back home. It fe...

Monthly Recap : May 2015

Hey everyone! I hope you guys had a wonderful May. This month has been pretty hectic for me. I had so many exams and I had to deal with so many personal issues. Things were certainly crazy! Life is starting to slow down however. This week I have my last final and then I have to move out of my apartment, graduate on Saturday and fly home on Monday. I'm hoping things will be calmer back home. I did have a good reading month and got some exciting new reads that I'm looking forward to reading. Here's my reading recap for this month! Number of books read 29 You can see a list of all the books I read this past month here . I got most of these books read during the memorial day readathon last weekend, which really gave me the boost to power read. Highest rating  5 Stars (I rated 1 book 5 stars) Siren's Fury by Mary Weber I loved this book so much! I thought it was even better than the stunning debut book, Storm Siren and I could not get enough of the author's writing and ...

Monthly Recap : April 2015

Hey everyone! I hope you had a lovely month! I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I'll be going back home for the summer in about a month and I can't wait to be back home. Remember how I said that I got into 2 graduate schools and I needed help choosing? Well, turns out I'm not going to either of them. I'll be here in Denver itself because I received a full scholarship and a paid teaching assistantship position. It's not exactly what I wanted, but financially, it's the best option for me. Currently, I'm in the process of looking for apartments, and those things are darn expensive. It's a pain and adulting is so hard. :/ Anyways, in terms of books I had a great month. I was in the mood for romance, so I read a ton of Entangled Brazen books. Here's my reading recap for this month! Number of books read 28 You can see a list of all the books I read this past month here . Highest rating  5 Stars (I rated 6 books 5 stars this month!) End of Days...

Monthly Recap : March 2015

Image
Hey everyone! How was your guys' March? It went by so fast! I ended my 2nd quarter of my senior year and then I had my one week spring break where I ended up not reading as many books as I wanted to and then I just found out a few weeks ago that I got accepted into 2 prestigious graduate schools! I didn't think it could happen because I don't have that much research experience, but I was over the moon when I read the emails! I have to make a decision where to go next month. I have to choose between cold Boston and sunny LA! If you guys are from either of these 2 cities, please share your thoughts about the cities in general, as in, personalities of people, public transportation, crime rates, etc ... Both schools are great, so I'll have to factor in other aspects to make a good decision. I also started my last quarter of college last week and I'm so excited and nervous at the same time for graduation in June! I'm truly looking forward to what the future holds in ...
